PBN Course                         [ REGISTER ]

The PBN concept established by ICAO governs the use GNSS in flight, whether it be approaches or departure/arrival procedures, and even en-route phases.

From April 2021, all EASA IR qualified pilots will have to have completed EASA PBN training and have had this rating affixed to their license, in order to continue to fly IFR.

In addition to that, FAA pilots are not supervised by EASA, however they also have the obligation to have been trained in order to use these procedures and tools.

Our course allows you to get the theoretical knowledge as well as the technical skills required to operate PBN procedures and phases effectively and safely, whether you are an FAA certificated or an EASA licensed pilot.

Your training will take place in two phases:

Ground school :
  • In a classroom or by videoconference, this course will allow you to assimilate PBN concepts and operational methods;
Flight training :
  • This in-flight phase will make you use this theoretical knowledge and develop the required practical skills (minimum 2 hours / 4 approaches).

Once these two phases are completed, we will issue your certificate which will allow you to have the PBN privilege added on your EASA license after your next IR revalidation (or skill test).

A "PBN" airplane can be presented with various avionics, it is therefore important to have a wide knowledge of these diffenrent options on the one hand, and to have a good knowledge of your specific airplane on the other hand.

That is why we can train you on your own aircraft on your request, in order to allow you to gain maximum ease on that plane.

No airplane available ? That's fine !

We also have a fleet of PBN-equipped airplanes available for you. Or if you want, the practical phase can be done on an FNPT II simulator.

You are an FAA certificated pilot ?

This course will also allow you to get the required knowledge and skills to fly PBN approaches and procedures.
Moreover, we can also sign off your Flight review during that training, and even an IPC if required (on prior request, to allow us to adjust the training schedule for that purpose).
